what a lot of people don't realize about TO wanting a new contract is his agent's situation. Drew Rosehaus or however you spell it was hired by Terrell after his last contract was negotiated. This means Drew gets no compensation under current NFL contract rules. The only way he gets his cut is a new contract
Not to say TO shouldn't shut the hell up more often, but you gotta wonder about this angle of the whole situation.

I hate his new agent and the guy is in his 30s if owens is smart he will beg to play for philly next year untill he gets back and will play well or he will just fade away trust me no one will pay him over 48.97 million on a 7 yr deal or even shorter yrs owens is a fool not to try as hard as possable to get back next year but if he wants back in he better shut his mouth alot more offen and just play hear me owens if you win a super bowl with the eagles i will not care about all this talking you do but untill you do shut the hell up grow up.

Trust me... some team out there is stupid enough to take a shot on Owens. Some coach, or some owner, is going to think to themselves "this guy will put us over the top. yes he'll destroy our locker room, but he'll get us a Super Bowl." And so they'll happily mortgage their team for that one shot that Owens will behave himself long enough to get them a championship. Anything after that... is irrelevent.
So if you care about your team... pray that your coach/owner isn't the IDIOT that thinks Owens will help more than he'll hurt.

There are a few rumours about Jerry Jones wanting Owens to go to Dallas. Watch out Cowboy fans! TO only likes players whom he's never played with.
And yeah Drew Rosenhaus is a jerk. He's the agent for Davenport, Jackson and Walker in Green Bay and he pissed me off during the last offseason.

Thanks to Savio for renaming and modding the football thread. Let's keep it friendly and flame free now.
Some quick thoughts on the weekend: Wow, how about the Bears? Did anyone think they'd have a chance against the Panthers? They proved they are for real. That defense is so good, and Kyle Orton is just good enough (ie. he doesn't make mistakes) to win them games. Playoff games at Soldier Field anyone?
The Colts... ugg, why can't they just lose? I'm beginning to think that the only way they lose a game is if they rest their starters for the last couple weeks after locking up home field advantage throughout the playoffs. San Diego, Seattle, and Pittsburgh will all play them tough. But unless they sit Manning and Co. the just might go all the way.
The Eagles are officially finished. Now 2 games under .500 and having lost yet another divison game, even if they go 6-0 over the final 6 games, they still probably don't make the playoffs. I respect McNabb for trying to gut out a tough injury, but it's time to shut it down and think about next year.
The Falcons proved once again what I've been saying for weeks... they are simply overrated. The Panthers are still in the driver's seat for the division, and if Vick and Co. don't get their act together, the Bucs may beat them out for a wild card spot. And Vick is still the single most overrated player in the league. Talk to me when he actually wins something, and we'll discuss his status among the top QB's in the league.
And here's a little stat I picked up from SI.com today. In his 4 and a half years as a starter... Tom Brady has NEVER lost back-to-back games. Enjoy him while he's here folks. He truly is the second coming of Montana... who was the second coming of Stauback... who was the second coming of Unitas. In other words, Brady is THE truly great quarterback of this generation. The Montana to Peyton Manning's Marino.

If a team signs TO, it is sure to be low pay, high incentive-based.
That said, it is even more of a cluster-f for the team that takes TO. How much will he complain if the coach takes him out of a blowout game or he has to sit because the team he is on made the playoffs and wants to rest their starters?
He will whine the team is trying to keep him from reaching his incentive bonuses.

@aracos79:
I agree, we are seeing a once in a lifetime QB in Brady.
He's got the SB wins, now he just has to continue to pad his stats and keep winning.
As for Manning, he needs to at least get into a SB to be considered for the HOF. Crazy you may say?
Let's look at Peyton's stats to date, after 7 seasons plus 10 games of an eighth...
31,976 yds passing, 236 td's, 93.2 rating, 63.9% completions
Even if he were to play another 3-4 years at the level he is currently playing at, his stats will not be enough to warrant a HOF berth based on the stats of who is already in the promised land.

Packers got trashed again.
An interesting stat is their total points scored is higher than the total points scored against them. The result of running up that Saints game I guess. Karma comes back and bites them in the ass.

Maybe Peyton should take a lesson from Brett Favre. If the Colts win the Super Bowl, he should just retire and save himself late career humiliation.
EDIT: Speaking of Favre, I heard an interesting theory today. If Brett wants to keep playing, he could do it in New Orleans. The Saints are fed up with Aaron Brooks, and think about what a superstar like Favre could do to stabilize football in The Big Easy. He is from Mississippi, so that's his backyard. I know... Brett belongs in a Packer uniform, but if he is going to go somewhere else wouldn't that be a great story?

Pats .....they're not exciting to watch really but you don't take the title away from the champ until the final bell. Pats win their division, Colts win the AFC and go to the superbowl. (beating Denver in the AFC championship..who else is gonna be there??)
NFC - Right now Seattle looks to be the team to beat and with Alexander busting 120yds/gm +2-3 tds......it will start hurting more and more for the other NFC teams once their WR core is full strength again. I'm cowboy fan but at times its just real hard to believe this team is solid - Big Bill being so damned cynical all the time seems to spread to the team at times. Giants are getting there but Manning is still not Peyton so don't kid yourself that they're better than they are.
Falcon's may make the playoffs but as previously stated - Vick needs to move to WR (not RB are you serious he'd get broken on the first hit!! At least at WR he could out run them) Hell even Deion Sanders could lay a telling blow on Vick.........taking NOTHING away from Vick's ability, it's his fragility that's hampering him and the team.
